8. Learn Local Brand Stars

Seeking inspiration about how to maximise your marketing power? Check out how other Learn Local organisations are using the network brand to promote their wares.

Learn Local Mornington Peninsula Network
The Learn Local Mornington Peninsula Network is an alliance of seven Learn Local organisations located across the peninsula and has grown out of a sucessful grant from the ACFE Board Capacity and Innovation Fund Round 3 in 2012. The funding has developed a regional approach to marketing Learn Local organisations.

The network is a brilliant example of pooling resources and sharing services in order to increase awareness of the education and training services offered in the local area and reach more learners. They have put together a number of good branded collateral including a website, a brochure listing all courses offered, and they are producing a regular newsletter using the Learn Local newsletter template.

And they’ve come up with a great tagline too “With seven locations across the Mornington Peninsula it's never been so easy to Learn Local.”

Casey Cardinia Alliance of Learn Local
We have a terrific example of a best practice Learn Local campaign, from the ‘new’ Casey Cardinia Alliance of Learn Local. The alliance, which includes Learn Local organisations from Beaconsfield Upper, Cranbourne, Cranbourne North, Endeavour Hills, Frankston, Hallam, Hampton Park and Pakenham, pooled their resources to create a fantastic campaign, which focuses on creating brand awareness in the local area. The campaign kicked off in November 2012, with a schedule of activities planned through to January.

Here are the main components of the campaign:
  • A brand new and beautifully branded Learn Local alliance website where users can search by course and by provider: http://learnlocalcaseycardinia.com.au
  • A brochure drop to 76,000 households in Casey, Cardinia and Frankston (single page A4 double-sided)

  • A business card for use by Alliance members

  • Two exhibition banners for use at all events

  • A program of shopping centre promotions over November and January
  • A further brochure drop planned for January.

From all at ACFE we wish the new Casey Cardinia Alliance the very best of luck in the future.
